Why is a “Touch-up Session” necessary after permanent makeup application, and when should it be performed?

The first permanent makeup session is always kept “cautious and gentle” to see how the skin reacts to the dye and how well it accepts it. Depending on skin type, 30% to 60% of the dye will naturally shed after the first session, and minimal color gaps may remain in some areas. A touch-up session is vital to fill these gaps, increase color longevity, check symmetry one last time, and clarify line thicknesses if necessary. At least 4 to 6 weeks should pass after the first procedure for the underlying skin layers to fully heal and the color to settle; touch-ups should not be done before this time.
