Because chemotherapy drugs target all rapidly dividing cells in the body (including cancer cells and hair and eyebrow follicles), eyebrows will fall out completely during treatment. Permanent eyebrow enhancement is a wonderful solution to help the patient cope more easily psychologically during this process. However, timing is crucial: The procedure must be completed at least 21 days before chemotherapy sessions begin. This is because as soon as chemotherapy starts, the body’s white blood cells (immune) and platelets (clotting) drop to near zero. A needle procedure while undergoing chemotherapy can lead to uncontrollable bleeding and fatal infections. If treatment has already begun, the procedure cannot be performed until the process is complete and blood counts return to normal (at least 6 months).
