In the treatment of stretch marks (striae), how effective are “Striort” or laser systems on older, whitened stretch marks?

Update date: 11 June 2026

Stretch marks are dermal scars (marks) that form when collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis layer of the skin tear due to sudden weight gain or hormonal reasons. When they first form, stretch marks are red/purple (striae rubra) and respond to treatments in 90% of cases because blood flow continues in this stage. Whitened stretch marks (striae alba), on the other hand, are scarred tissue that has formed over the years and where blood circulation has stopped. Systems such as Striort (vacuum fibro-active current) or fractional lasers re-injure these white stretch marks in a controlled manner, re-attracting blood flow and cellular signals to the area. White stretch marks cannot be completely eliminated, but their visibility can be reduced by 50-70%, smoothing the skin surface.
