What is Acne (Pimple)?

Acne, commonly known as ‘pimples’, is the most common skin problem. It occurs due to blockage of the sebaceous gland ducts (follicles) due to the inability of the sebaceous glands in the hair follicle to excrete the oil (sebum) secreted. Although acne is most commonly seen in adolescence; it is a common problem that almost every person can encounter in different periods. It is most often seen in the face, neck, back, upper arm and shoulder areas.

What Causes Acne?

  • Genetic predisposition
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Bacteria
  • Stress

How Can We Prevent Acne From Leaving Scars?

If acne is not squeezed, the likelihood of scarring is greatly reduced. Although it is not possible to determine the degree of scarring that may occur in acne in advance, it is known that early and effective treatment prevents scarring.

  • Acne should be treated under the supervision of a dermatologist
  • Acne should not be squeezed and plucked out
  • Since blackheads are the leading signs of acne, they should not be removed inappropriately.
  • Avoid the sun during acne treatment.
