Exactly how long after finishing Roaccutane treatment can laser hair removal be started?

Update date: 11 June 2026

Systemic isotretinoin medications such as Roaccutane, Zoretanin, or Aknetrent almost completely stop the skin’s sebum (oil) production, thin the epidermis, and severely suppress the skin’s ability to repair and heal itself. During this process, the skin is extremely sensitive to heat and friction. At least six months must pass after treatment to allow the drug to be completely eliminated from the body and for the skin to regain its barrier, thickness, and moisture balance. Laser treatment before this time can cause severe peeling and permanent deep burns.
