During menopause, the levels of estrogen and progesterone hormones in a woman’s body experience a sharp decline. Estrogen is the most important female hormone, extending the hair’s growth (anagen) phase and protecting it. When these hormones decrease, the small amount of androgen (male) hormones naturally present in a woman’s body become dominant, and hair follicles begin to be exposed to the destructive effects of DHT hormone, just like in men; this is called “Male-pattern baldness in women.” In this process, vitamin mesotherapy alone is insufficient for treatment; a combination of peptide-based hair fillers that locally block DHT in the scalp, hair laser treatment, and salmon DNA treatments that indirectly support estrogen synthesis should be used.
