The success of PRP treatment depends on increasing the platelet concentration in the plasma to at least 4 to 6 times the normal blood level. Centrifugation with ordinary laboratory tubes can break down cells or prevent complete separation. FDA-approved PRP kits, specifically designed for hair treatment, with a gel-like or smooth inner surface, and double centrifugation at the correct RPM setting, isolate platelets and their growth factors such as VEGF, PDGF, and EGF at the highest concentration without damage. Applications with low-quality kits result in nothing more than “cell-poor water” injections and do not create any regeneration in the hair follicle.
